NURSE AIDE PROGRAM

The Nurse Aide program is an intensive eight (8) week course, consisting of both classroom and clinical instruction in basic nursing skills. Tours and clinical participation are conducted in local hospitals and nursing homes throughout Hampden County. The program is open to both men and women interested in entering the health care field in an entry-level, career-directed environment. The course has a strong concentration of “hands-on” clinical experience with patients, while building self-confidence, self-esteem, and motivation in the student.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has approved this program. Students who successfully complete the course and secure employment in a long-term care facility are eligible for State certification. MCDI conducts the Nurse Aide program five times throughout the year so there is ample opportunity to pursue this career option within the health career industry.
